Meanings, Values, and Grading Practices in Estimating University Grades: An-Najah National University in Palestine as a Model

The research aimed to identify the assessment practices used in grading process and meanings included them values that are taken into account estimating grades at An-Najah National University, compare between colleges of university. sample consisted (301) faculty members. To achieve objectives study, researcher a tool nine evaluation positions. results indicated differed different faculties, score is closely related effort exerted by student, sometimes it compassion mercy. course requirements must be fulfilled because an integral part it. members some faculties appeal mercy case student’s situation requires that, this after examining student's effort, economic status, or social circumstances. recommends converting raw letter grade should clear for all members, they trained on study also re-conducting survey other universities, linking practices, their meanings, with factors such as years experience which member spent education academic rank.
